Mah & Me, the process
Mah and Me went through a lot of stages in art and design. Here is an example of how one of the spreads evolved to its final look.
This spread, for instance, started as mere scribbles. I had an idea in mind and then drew about 10 thumbnails to experiment with different angles and points of view.
Once I decided on the thumbnails I felt represented my idea best, I worked on refining my sketch to its final clean look.
After that, I would do some light and shadow experiments to try and decided where my light source comes from and I would do a few value studies for the scene.
Once I decide my values, I move to color studies and try to make them convey the mood in the page.
Once that’s done, I work on the spread either digitally or transfer it on paper for traditional mediums.
